In the mornings, it IS a little cooler, but often, still not cool enough for a dog to be out on the trails. Hiking trails in the Phoenix area have almost NO SHADE. Dogs have fur, and they cannot sweat. This is a deadly combination, so, there is actually a law in place that says dogs cannot be on the trails when it's 100 degrees or above. HOWEVER, (yes, another however), it's really too hot when it hits 80, especially on the pavement which is extremely hot on their little paws. So, do your dog a favor, leave him/her at home when the temps are over 80 in the sun. Before the sun comes up when it's still a little dark, a short walk around the neighborhood is probably OK.
Remember to ALWAYS have water for yourself and your dog when out walking. It's dry here and you will need more than you think.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS!
